The Chapin Police Department is pleased to welcome Officer Ryan Smith as its newest member. Smith, who now resides in Chapin with his wife and children, brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the department.
Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Smith moved to South Carolina in 2010 after completing his service in the Marine Corps. He served as a police officer in Mt. Pleasant for four years, where he gained valuable experience and honed his skills in law enforcement.
Smith and his family moved to Newberry before settling in Chapin last July, where his wife and her family are originally from. Currently, he is in the process of being re-certified to serve the Chapin community.
