A full slate of high school basketball featuring several ranked Midlands teams is scheduled for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend, with multiple tournaments and showcase events set to tip off across the region.
Two Columbia high schools will host single-day boys and girls events on Saturday.
Eau Claire High School will host the King’s Holiday Classic, featuring seven games throughout the day.
Boys

At the same time, the annual MLK Bash will be held at its new location, C.A. Johnson High School. Eight games are scheduled, highlighted by a matchup between defending girls’ basketball state champions and the renewal of a longstanding boys rivalry.

The girls schedule concludes with Class 4A champion North Augusta facing two-time Class 2A titleholder Andrew Jackson. The boys nightcap features W.J. Keenan against Class 4A No. 1 Gray Collegiate Academy.
Saturday’s finale marks the first meeting between Keenan and Gray Collegiate since Dec. 3, 2024. Prior to that, the Raiders and War Eagles faced each other 15 times, including four meetings in the state semifinals.
On Monday, E.P.I.C. Hoops Metro will host the MLK Classic at Irmo High School, featuring four girls basketball games:
