In January of this year, CGC President Cindy Chin applied for multiple awards on the state level – highlighting the work of Chapin Garden Club members completed throughout the year in the Chapin community. Garden Club of SC Board of Directors reviewed all award applications from across the state and selected the winners. Results were announced at the State Convention in April and this year Chapin Garden Club received recognition for all 13 awards applied for:
- President’s Pollinator Award (#9) Pollinator Garden/Town Hall and Timberlake Country Club 12 Tee Box – Honorable Mention
- Let’s Grow South Carolina (#10) Backyard Bird count with Youth at Timberlake Country Club –First Place Tie ($200 first place winners)
- Claudia Wright Lea Phelps Award (#11) – Community Service Day – Second Place
- Arbor Day Celebration (#12) – Chapin Library – Honorable Mention
- Holiday Beautification (#14) – Chapin Chamber – 3rd Place Tie
- Club Program (#16) – Wildlife Trivia at Timberlake Country Club partnered with SC
- Wildlife Educator Jay Keck – First Place ($25)
- Therapeutic Garden Award (#17) Petal Pals – First Place ($25)
- Conservation Natural Resources (#18) Program open to public on watershed management held at Timberlake – Second Place
- National Garden Week (#20) – Flowers, Library Display – Honorable Mention
- Backyard Wildlife Habitat (# 21) – 27 New Habitats – First Place ($25)
- Plant it Pink (#24) – Display Beds at Town Hall – Second Place
- Publicity Press Book (#29) – 2022 Press Book – Third Place
- 2022-2023 Club Yearbook – Second Place
