The Municipal Association of South Carolina (MASC) conducted their annual convention in Greenville last week, and Town Administrator Nicholle Burroughs, Mayor Al Koon, and Councilmembers Vicky Shealy and Greg White were present.
The Town of Chapin received the MASC Municipal Achievement Award in recognition of its exceptional performance and creative program that has resulted in a better quality of life for its citizens.
The program, which began in 1987, gives local government leaders and personnel the opportunity to be recognized for exceptional and creative initiatives in local government. The program also serves as a venue for South Carolina residents to share their greatest public service ideas.
“It is an incredible honor to be recognized by the Municipal Association for the first time for excellence in local government programming.” “This award emphasizes the importance of the collaboration and community partnership that makes Chapin so special,” said Town Administrator Nicholle Burroughs in her acceptance speech. Mayor Koon also expressed his delight at receiving the prize.
