Chapin Police Department Honored with FBI-LEEDA Agency Trilogy Award

CHAPIN, SC (September 18, 2024) — The Chapin Police Department has been recognized with the prestigious FBI-Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (FBI-LEEDA) Agency Trilogy Award. This honor, awarded to law enforcement agencies demonstrating exceptional leadership, is presented following the successful completion of a comprehensive training program aimed at enhancing public safety leadership and management. Chapin Police Department is only the second agency in South Carolina to receive this distinction.

The department’s command staff completed a three-part leadership series covering key topics such as diversity and inclusion, bias, public trust, transformational leadership, and emotional intelligence. The program is designed to foster leadership competencies that strengthen both the department and the community it serves.

“The Chapin Police Department is proud to receive the Agency Trilogy Award, which is a testament to our commitment to building strong leadership values within our department and throughout the community,” said Chief Thomas W. Griffin. “We prioritize continuous development for each of our officers and appreciate the valuable opportunities FBI-LEEDA provides.”

FBI-LEEDA’s courses are taught by seasoned law enforcement professionals from across the nation and focus on leadership skills for various command levels.

Jacques S. Battiste, Executive Director of FBI-LEEDA, expressed his praise, saying, “I am honored to present the Agency Trilogy Award to the Chapin Police Department. Their leadership and exemplary management have set a high standard, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact they will continue to make in their community.”

The FBI-LEEDA Agency Trilogy Award has been awarded to 151 law enforcement agencies across the nation since its inception, recognizing departments that have completed the Supervisor, Command, and Executive Leadership Institute courses.
