Chapin Library to Host Ghosts and Legends Event

The Chapin Branch of the Lexington County Public Library will welcome USC Professor Pat McNeely on October 10 at 6 pm for a presentation on her latest work, Historic South Carolina Ghosts and Legends. McNeely, an award-winning reporter and editor, will explore the state’s rich folklore and ghost stories in a heavily illustrated discussion.

Surveys show that 57 percent of Americans believe in ghosts, with 35 percent reporting paranormal activity in their homes. McNeely will dive into these intriguing tales, offering attendees a chance to learn about South Carolina’s eerie history.

The event, sponsored by South Carolina Humanities, is free and open to the public. Signed copies of McNeely’s book will be available for purchase at $20. Whether you’re a history buff, ghost story enthusiast, or simply curious, this event promises an engaging evening.
