The Chapin High football team play host at 7:30 p.m. Friday to A.C. Flora looking to extend its longest winning streak in two years.
The Eagles are coming off a 38-31 victory over Brookland-Cayce. Quarterback Brady Albro continued his strong play at quarterback by throwing for 300 yards and three touchdowns.
Defensively, safety Gavin Stam had 11 tackles and linebacker Tanner Short had eight tackles.
While the Eagles have won four straight, the Falcons are coming off a 52-27 loss to Camden. A.C. Flora (2-2) had an early 13-0 lead before the Bulldogs responded with 38 straight points to snap their two-game losing streak.
Cross Country
The Chapin boys cross-country team beat out 34 other schools to win the Lake Murray Invitational this past Saturday.
The Eagles were led by third-place finisher Koa Erickson. Teammate Calvin Smith finished in ninth place.
River Bluff and Dutch Fork were sixth and seventh place, respectively, and Irmo placed 29th.
A first-place finish by Abigail White helped the Chapin girls earn third place.
Teammate Georgia Babcock finished 11th at the event. Heathwood Hall placed first, followed by Dorman.
