Chapin High School will be among the local teams competing for the Class 5A title in girls club.
The Lady Eagles won the Upper State tournament Monday at Chester Golf Course with a score of 307. They edged out Dorman by two strokes, while Blythewood placed sixth with a score of 338.
The Lady Bengals’ Caroline Hawkins, the defending Class 5A individual champion, had the top score of 66.
The Class 5A Lower State tournament at the Country Club of Florence saw Wando beat out Carolina Forest by one stroke and Lexington by three strokes. River Bluff placed sixth to qualify for the state tournament Oct. 23-24 at Mid-Carolina Club in Prosperity.
