Annual fundraiser supports teacher grants and student food assistance
IRMO — The District Five Foundation of Lexington-Richland School District Five held its annual Groovin’ for the Good gala Oct. 17 at the River Center in Saluda Shoals Park.
Guests embraced the event’s 1970s and 1980s theme with era-inspired outfits, music and decorations. The evening also featured an online auction offering a variety of items.

The gala is the foundation’s primary fundraiser, supporting programs that benefit students and teachers throughout the district.
“Everyone was ‘groovin’ the night away,” said District Five Foundation President Dr. Matt Boyeson. “We’re thankful for everyone that participated and contributed to making this a fine event.”
The foundation helps address needs beyond traditional school funding through teacher grants and its Snack Pack Program, which provides nutritious food for students who may not have enough to eat over the weekend.
