State and federal representatives visit school cafeteria, farm and greenhouse
IRMO — School District Five recently welcomed representatives from the South Carolina Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Agriculture for a visit focused on school nutrition best practices.
The team observed lunch service at Spring Hill High School before touring the farm and greenhouse at the Center for Advanced Technical Studies.
The visit highlighted the district’s efforts to train, engage and support school nutrition staff. It also provided an opportunity to discuss collaboration with other school districts to expand professional learning opportunities and share best practices.
