Natural disasters or national emergencies are always a possibility, and Lexington County has training to be trained for a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).  The training includes disaster preparedness, hazards, basic disaster response skills, for events that would impact the Chapin area.  If you are interested in getting trained for a Chapin CERT team, call   803-785-2836. This training is excellent for former military, and anyone interested.

The Chapin area is getting a new church.  First Church will be meeting at the Abner Montessori School, 432 Boundary Street, Sunday at 11am and on Wednesday at 6:30 pm. To find out more, go to firstchruchsc.com.

The Labor Day was an incredible day in Chapin SC!  A big thank you to all those volunteers who helped make it the bug success on Monday.

September brings some cooler temperatures, but also the new hands-free cell phone law.   The first offense is a $100 fine; the second offense is $200 and two points on your driving record.   Let us all be careful drivers on our crowded Chapin roads and put down those phones and pay attention to the road!
