The Columbia Chamber is now accepting applications for the Midlands Minority Business Accelerator (MMBA) Class of 2025, with the deadline set for October 31 at 5 p.m. This program aims to address economic disparities faced by minority-owned businesses in South Carolina by offering essential tools and resources to enhance their competitiveness.
Funded by a seed grant from Bank of America, the MMBA is a collaborative effort between the Columbia Chamber, Greenville Chamber, and Charleston Metro Chamber. The 12-month program provides participants with a business development curriculum, tailored mentorship, networking opportunities, and potential access to capital. It is designed to help minority entrepreneurs scale their businesses and make a lasting impact on the local and state economy.
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be a minority-owned business (51% or more owned by individuals from a racial, ethnic, or cultural minority group, including women and veterans).
- Have a minimum annual revenue of $200,000.
- Employ at least one full-time staff member (besides the owner).
- Be beyond the startup phase, with at least three years of operation.
