Applications Open for Midlands Minority Business Accelerator Program

The Columbia Chamber is now accepting applications for the Midlands Minority Business Accelerator (MMBA) Class of 2025, with the deadline set for October 31 at 5 p.m. This program aims to address economic disparities faced by minority-owned businesses in South Carolina by offering essential tools and resources to enhance their competitiveness.

Funded by a seed grant from Bank of America, the MMBA is a collaborative effort between the Columbia Chamber, Greenville Chamber, and Charleston Metro Chamber. The 12-month program provides participants with a business development curriculum, tailored mentorship, networking opportunities, and potential access to capital. It is designed to help minority entrepreneurs scale their businesses and make a lasting impact on the local and state economy.

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be a minority-owned business (51% or more owned by individuals from a racial, ethnic, or cultural minority group, including women and veterans).
  • Have a minimum annual revenue of $200,000.
  • Employ at least one full-time staff member (besides the owner).
  • Be beyond the startup phase, with at least three years of operation.
