Spring Hill High School Career Pathways Magnet has received national recertification by Magnet Schools of America (MSA), the national association for magnet and theme-based schools.
Spring Hill High School Career Pathways Magnet has achieved recertification and has been recognized as a Demonstration School. Nationally certified magnet schools provide high-quality, innovative programs that promote choice, diversity, and excellence. Certified National Demonstration Magnet Schools exceed the criteria and are considered to be a model for other districts across the country.
“I am so proud of our Spring Hill family for achieving Magnet Schools of America recertification and being awarded a Demonstration School in the process,” said Spring Hill High School Principal Dr. Michael Lofton. “Our teachers and staff are dedicated to the magnet focus of Spring Hill and this directly contributes to our success each and every day. We look forward to having other magnet schools visit Spring Hill High School so our amazing faculty and staff can show them the Spring Hill WAY!”
To receive national certification, members of Magnet Schools of America must submit a detailed application and participate in a rigorous evaluation conducted by the National Institute for Magnet School Leadership (NIMSL). It is based on the National Magnet School Standards of Excellence and the five pillars of magnet schools (1. Diversity; 2. Innovative Curriculum and Professional Development; 3. Academic Excellence; 4. Leadership; and, 5. Family and Community Partnerships), the MSA certification process defines and ensures these standards as consistent, essential elements and characteristics of high-quality magnet programs.
Spring Hill High School Career Pathways Magnet is a comprehensive all-choice, all-magnet, public high school that offers five focus programs to students from grades 9-12 including Engineering, Entertainment, Entrepreneurial, Environmental Studies and Exercise Science academies. Through these academies, students are immersed in high-tech, real-world environments that develop core knowledge, ignite imagination and make learning relevant by using themed standards-based curriculum. This approach enhances college and career readiness by guiding students to make critical connections between their educational journey and the dynamic world.
Spring Hill High School will be recognized for this achievement during an awards ceremony held at Magnet Schools of America’s National Conference hosted in New York City April 16-20, 2024.
“This is a well-deserved accomplishment for Spring Hill High School Career Pathways Magnet,” said School District Five Magnet Director Sara Wheeler. “This recognition demonstrates that Spring Hill High School is being honored for their outstanding work, which means they are among the best in the nation.”
