Irmo, SC – On June 11, Midlands Technical College (MTC) hosted a retirement celebration at its Harbison campus to honor Dr. Ronald L. Rhames, who has been a dedicated member of the college community for 33 years. Dr. Rhames has served in various roles including senior vice president and chief operating officer before assuming the role of president.
Dr. Rhames’ connection with Midlands Tech runs deep, as he is not only a distinguished leader but also an alumnus of the institution. His long-standing commitment to the college and its mission has left an indelible mark on both the institution and its students.
During the celebration, Dr. Rhames was honored with a County resolution presented by District 4 County Councilman Paul Livingston. This resolution highlighted his outstanding contributions to the college and the community. Additionally, the 100 Black Men of Greater Columbia organization presented Dr. Rhames with a commemorative clock, symbolizing their appreciation for his impactful service and leadership.
The event celebrated not only Dr. Rhames’ professional achievements but also his legacy of dedication to education and community development, which will continue to inspire future generations at Midlands Technical College.
