Lake Murray Girls Flag Football League Forms

IRMO – A new girls flag football league is bringing together high schools from across the Midlands, expanding opportunities for female student-athletes to learn the game and compete.

In Lexington-Richland School District Five, girls flag football is currently offered as a club activity at each of the district’s three high schools. The programs allow students to develop their skills and compete against other schools across the Midlands.

The new Lake Murray league includes Batesburg-Leesville, Chapin, Dutch Fork, Irmo, Pelion and Wagener-Salley high schools. The league creates additional opportunities for girls from Lexington, Richland, Aiken and Barnwell counties to participate in organized flag football.

With support from the Carolina Panthers, participating programs have received equipment and Nike uniforms to help launch the new league in South Carolina.
