Irmo Chamber names student, teacher of the month

CrossRoads Intermediate student Rahaf Alzuabidi and teacher Lori Calhoun were selected as the Irmo Chamber’s Student and Teacher of the Month.

“Rahaf is an amazing student who embodies what it means to RISE,” Principal Dr. Erin Doty said. “She shows respect and integrity to everyone around her and participates in service opportunities with excellence in all that she does. She is constantly reaching out to help others and is also hardworking, polite and thoughtful. She has an incredible heart and a quick wit. She certainly represents all that is good about CrossRoads.”

Doty said, “Ms. Calhoun is a strong leader and an excellent teacher at CrossRoads Intermediate. She is currently our Teacher of the Year and serves as the Chair of the math department. She has been at CrossRoads for 18 years and she is certainly a huge part about what makes the school special. I am so proud that she is on our team.”
