Lexington-Richland School District Five is encouraging senior citizens to be involved and active in district-sponsored events and activities for the upcoming school year.
The district is again offering Golden Passes to residents who will be 60-years-old or older during the 2023-2024 school year. The permanent photo identification card provides free admission into most athletic and cultural arts events in School District Five, excluding playoff games.
“The Golden Pass program brings community members of all ages together and provides an opportunity to say thank you to our senior community for volunteering and supporting our schools,” School District Five Superintendent Dr. Akil E. Ross, Sr. said. “When the stands are filled, our students feel supported by the community and recognized for their efforts.”
Passes will be issued on Tuesday, August 1 between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. and Wednesday, August 2 between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. at the district administration building, which is located at 1020 Dutch Fork Road in Irmo. Golden Passes are lifetime passes and do not need to be renewed.
