Chapin High School is thrilled to announce the outstanding achievement of Ana Aun, who has been chosen for the Honors Performance Series by World Strides and is set to perform at the illustrious Carnegie Hall in New York City, from February 7-11, 2024.
Having submitted an audition earlier this Fall, Ana was selected to showcase her musical prowess alongside talented students from across the United States. Ana’s journey will take her to the heart of New York City, where she will participate in an event culminating in a memorable concert at Carnegie Hall.
Expressing her excitement, Ana Aun shared, “This opportunity means the world to me; it has been my dream to pursue music since I was very young. One of my lifetime goals, ever since I learned about Carnegie Hall, was to perform there, and I get to live my dream that I never thought I could.”
The Honors Performance Series, open to rising 9th-12th grade musicians, offers selected finalists the chance to rehearse and perform under the guidance of master conductors. It also provides a unique opportunity for these talented individuals to connect with like-minded musicians from around the world. While the primary focus is on performance preparation, the program also allows students to immerse themselves in the vibrant sights and performing arts scene of New York City.
Nicholas Shumate, Choral Director at Chapin High School, expressed immense pride in Ana’s accomplishment, stating, “I am incredibly proud of Ana and her achievement in auditioning and being selected for this honor. Performing with this group is a great honor, and I know that her family and community are extremely proud of her. She has worked very hard in the last couple of years, and I am very excited to watch her continued growth and success as she studies at USC next fall.”
Congratulations to Ana Aun for this remarkable accomplishment, and best wishes for her performance at Carnegie Hall!
