Deputies, others have gathered for annual event since 1997

Throngs of deputies and civilian employees of the Richland County Sheriff’s Department (RCSD) joined Sheriff Leon Lott for the Sheriff’s annual Halloween Party at the RCSD Training Center – Denny Terrace, Friday Oct. 30, the eve of All Hallow’s Eve.

All treats, no tricks, as it has been for almost three decades, the nearly 200 deputies, including some retirees, civilian employees, employee-familymembers, chaplains, and several members of the Richland County communities served by RCSD celebrated with the always popular costume contest followed by a catered lunch, lots of sweets, cookies, cakes, and pastries.
“We do this every year,” said Sheriff Lott. “We host numerous other parties for employees and our families and parties and festivals for our communities throughout the year, but this one is for deputies, other officers and employees. We get to relax for an hour or so, enjoy a great meal, dress up if we want to and have fun with one another.”
Sheriff Lott began RCSD’s tradition of an annual Halloween Party in 1997.
