Kendra L. Dove, the current Richland County Treasurer, has announce her intention to seek re-election for another four-year term, emphasizing ongoing efforts to expand taxpayer services, modernize operations, and improve efficiency in tax payment processing. Dove, who served as Richland County Deputy Treasurer for 17 years, ran for Treasurer in 2022.
Since taking office Dove has focused on strengthening the Treasurer’s Office through innovation and improved customer service. Under her leadership, the office has expanded services for residents by making significant investments in technology with the launch of three Self-Service Tax Payment Kiosks. These kiosks are the first of their kind in the community and are designed to save time for residents, especially in rural or surrounding areas of the county.
“Serving the residents of this county has been an incredible honor,” said Dove. “Over the past three years, we have worked hard to make the Treasurer’s Office more accessible, more efficient, and more responsive to the needs of taxpayers. I’m proud of the progress we’ve made, but there is still more work to do. I look forward to continuing this work, and I ask for your support as we move forward.”
Key priorities for the upcoming term include continuing to grow the office’s online service platform, simplifying tax payment processing, and expanding service options that make it easier and more convenient for taxpayers to do business with the county.
“Our goal has always been to ensure taxpayers receive the highest level of service while managing the office with accountability and efficiency,” Dove said. “I look forward to building on the progress we’ve made and continuing to serve the people of this county.”
Kendra L. Dove was first elected County Treasurer in 2022 as the first African American and the second woman to hold the position since the county’s incorporation in 1799.
