It’s a tale of two seasons for the Chapin volleyball and football teams.
The Lady Eagles (15-2-1) entered Tuesday’s Region 4-5A matchup against Lexington looking to keep sole possession of second place. Riding a three-match winning streak, Chapin’s last loss came in straight sets to River Bluff on Sept. 23.
The team will travel to The Swamp on Thursday for a rematch with the Gators. A win would put the Lady Eagles in position to force a region tiebreaker as the regular season winds down.
Meanwhile, the Chapin football team is fighting to turn its season around. The Eagles have dropped seven straight games dating back to last year and are coming off a 50-0 road loss to district rival Dutch Fork.
This week, Chapin (0-6, 0-1) travels to face Lexington, who are also coming off a shutout defeat to top-ranked Irmo. The teams last met in 2024, when the Wildcats edged Chapin in a 33-32 thriller.
