CHAPIN, S.C. — Chapin American Legion Post 193 will hold a Patriot Day Ceremony Friday, September 11, at 8:30 a.m. at the post’s new home.
Members, families, friends and community members are invited to attend the ceremony, which will mark the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
The ceremony will remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost in the attacks, honor the firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS personnel and other first responders who answered the call, and recognize the service members who served and sacrificed in the military operations that followed 9/11.
During the ceremony, significant moments from the morning of September 11, 2001, will be observed with the tolling of a bell in remembrance and the lowering of the American flag to half-staff.
