South Carolina PTA Hosts Successful Legislative Conference and Training Day at State House

Columbia, SC – The South Carolina Parent Teacher Association (SCPTA) proudly hosted its Legislative Conference and Training Day on February 26, 2025, bringing together PTA leaders, members, and advocates from across the state to engage in meaningful discussions about public education policies and grassroots advocacy.

As part of the day’s events, attendees received training on grassroots advocacy strategies and learned how to effectively engage with legislators on critical issues impacting South Carolina’s students and schools. Participants also had the opportunity to meet with lawmakers, be recognized in the South Carolina House of Representatives, and gain firsthand insight into the legislative process.

“Advocacy is at the heart of our mission,” said Mike Ward, SCPTA Vice President of Advocacy. “By equipping our members with the tools and knowledge they need, we can build stronger schools and communities for all students.”

SCPTA is the largest and oldest child advocacy organization in the state, dedicated to ensuring every child receives a high-quality education. Through advocacy efforts like the Legislative Conference, SCPTA empowers parents, educators, and community members to make a lasting impact on education policy.
