The Chapin girls’ basketball team is headed to the Class 5A Division II playoffs.
The Lady Eagles solidified their position with two straight wins heading into Thursday’s regular-season finale at White Knoll.
Last Friday was a memorable Senior Night for forward Reagan Haggard. She posted a double-double (12 points, 12 rebounds) in the 64-47 win over River Bluff.
With the win and Irmo loss to White Knoll, Chapin (11-13, 3-5) moved into fourth place in Region 4-5A.
On Tuesday, Haggard went for 16 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, three steals and a block in the 64-48 win over Irmo. A win Thursday over the Lady Timberwolves would give Chapin (12-13, 4-5) a .500 record.

Tyson Ray led the Eagles with 13 points, five rebounds and four assists. Reese Jolly had 11 points and Braydyn Francis finished with 10 points.
Chapin closes out the regular season Thursday at White Knoll. The Eagles are a game behind the Timberwolves for fourth place in Region 4-5A.
WRESTLING
Eagles fall in Lower State final

The Chapin wrestling team’s quest for a state championship berth ended last Wednesday at Lugoff-Elgin.
The Eagles faced the Demons in the Class 5A Division II Lower State final. It was a close contest which came down to a pinfall at 190 points to give Lugoff-Elgin the 35-30 victory.
The Demons lost to Fort Mill 33-28 in the final last Saturday at Dreher High School.
The individual qualifiers start this week.
