In partnership with the Town of Chapin, the Crooked Creek Art League (CCAL) is pleased to announce the Dedication Ceremony and unveiling of the newest public art installation on the Chapin Arts Trail.
The public is invited to attend the ceremony on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 11 a.m. beside The Shack, located at 1250 Chapin Road in Chapin. The event is free and open to all.
The artwork, titled “Talk of the Town,” is a permanent, large-scale mural covering the entire side of a downtown Chapin building. Fun, vibrant, and interactive, the mural draws inspiration from local folklore and history connected to the Chapin and Lake Murray area. It was painted in high-quality, weather-resistant water-based paint. Both the design and execution were completed by artist Alicia Leeke.
Visitors are encouraged to take selfies with the mural and share them using the hashtags
#showusyourselfies, #AliciaLeekeContemporaryAmericanPainter, @theshackChapin, and #bigfoot.
CCAL and the Town of Chapin remain committed to expanding public art in the area, helping spotlight the region’s thriving arts community. The organization expresses its gratitude to the business community for supporting the Chapin Art Trail—especially the owners of The Shack for commissioning this new work.
