Schools Closed on August 8

The National Weather Service is predicting continued rain and potential flooding from Tropical Storm Debby for our area through Thursday, August 8, 2024. As a result, School District Five of Lexington & Richland Counties schools and offices, including the FIVE virtual program, will be closed on Thursday, August 8, 2024.

All after-school extracurricular activities are canceled.

As a result, Friday, August 9, 2024, will be the first day of school and will be a “B” day. 4K and 5K students will receive further information from their teachers regarding start dates.
E-learning is not an option for the first day of school so School District Five will utilize October 11, 2024, as the severe weather make-up day.

We are looking forward to starting this new school year, but the safety of our students and staff is always School District Five’s highest priority. We appreciate your patience and understanding. Any changes to normal school operations will be made using the school district’s automated telephone system, the district website, social media and local media outlets. #BackToSchool #IrmoSC #ChapinSC #SCWX
