Saluda Shoals Park in Irmo was the site for the annual Mike Moore Classic.

There were three races this past Saturday at the event. It opened with 17 Irmo High School cross-country alumni taking part in a race won by Tristan Burge.

The boys’ competition saw Chapin’s Koa Erickson and Calvin Smith place first and second place to lead Chapin to a varsity boys victory. It finished second in the JV division to Dutch Fork, which was second in the varsity division.

Defending Class 5A state champion Kendra Miles of Lexington beat out Abigail White of Chapin for first place in the Classic Three-Mile Run. The Lady Wildcats placed second behind Heathwood Hall in the team competition but won the JV girls’ team competition as they had the top nine finishers.
