LEXINGTON, S.C. — On September 17, 2024, the Lexington County School District One Educational Foundation awarded 16 Michelin Golden Apple Teacher Grant Awards to teachers across the district. These grants, totaling $3,401.49, will impact 2,698 students in eight schools.
Congratulations to the Fall Grant Recipients:

- Lake Murray Elementary: Katy Handell, Kayla Megill, Stephanie Ricard, Jill Strainer, Anna Owens
- Midway Elementary: Chelsie Landy, Kelly Parker
- Oak Grove Elementary: Deborah Harmon
- Pleasant Hill Elementary: Jamie Atkins, Shannon McGurn, Heather Johnston
- Pleasant Hill Middle: Joseph McMillan
- Saxe Gotha Elementary: Hope Clark
- White Knoll Middle: Lauren Blakely, Lisa Hartman
Funded projects include STEM bins, light boxes, hands-on science and math tools, and outdoor learning materials. These grants, made possible by Michelin North America’s donation, enhance classroom experiences and learning opportunities beyond what school budgets can typically provide.
