Lexington County Deputy on Paid Leave Following Domestic Violence Charge

LEXINGTON, S.C. – A Lexington County deputy has been placed on paid administrative leave following his arrest on third-degree domestic violence charges. According to an incident report from the Lexington Police Department, 47-year-old Charles Freeman was arrested early Monday morning at a residence in the 400 block of Ivy Green Lane.

Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon confirmed Freeman’s leave, stating, “When I became aware of the arrest, we initiated the process to place Deputy Freeman on leave. We continue to gather information about what happened in this situation and will take the appropriate action after reviewing the facts of the case.”

Freeman was booked into the Lexington County Detention Center early Monday and was released later that day after meeting bond conditions. The case remains under review.
