Lady Eagles place fourth at state tournament

The Chapin girls’ golf team placed fourth at the South Carolina High School League Division II tournament that finished Tuesday at The Hackler in Conway.

The Lady Eagles had a 5-stroke lead over defending champion T.L. Hanna after Day One. On Tuesday, the Lady Yellowjackets stormed back to win the tournament by 12 strokes over Conway.

West Florence finished in third place followed by Chapin, which had finished state runner-up three years in a row.

The 2025 season ended for Chapin volleyball with a 3-set loss Monday to Lucy Beckham.

The Lady Eagles ended with an overall record of 19-4-1.

In tennis, the Lady Eagles traveled Tuesday to second-seed Myrtle Beach for a second-round matchup.

Football

The Chapin football faces a ‘must-win’ game Friday at White Knoll.

A loss to the Timberwolves would not only mean a losing season, but the Eagles would miss the Class 5A Division II playoffs. The RPI ratings used to determine playoff seeding factors overall record, region finish and record of opposition.

Chapin (0-9, 0-4) holds a 5-2 edge in the head-to-head series with White Knoll, including last year’s 35-34 victory.
