Eckstrom Announces Run for Lexington County Probate Judge

Brian Eckstrom, an attorney with Moore Bradley Myers and a lifelong resident of Lexington County, has announced his candidacy for Lexington County Probate Judge.

The Probate Court plays a key role in the community, handling matters such as administering estates, appointing guardians and conservators, issuing marriage licenses, and overseeing involuntary commitments for individuals facing serious mental health crises.

For Eckstrom, the position carries personal significance. His father, Dan Eckstrom, has served as probate judge since 1990, giving him early insight into the responsibilities and impact of the office.

A graduate of Irmo High School, Eckstrom said his early work experience at a local Kroger and on construction crews helped shape his understanding of the community he now hopes to serve.

After earning his law degree, he worked as an assistant solicitor in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit, gaining courtroom experience before joining Moore Bradley Myers, where he represents clients in a variety of legal matters.

“I am honored to ask for the support of Lexington County voters,” Eckstrom said. “The Probate Court handles some of the most personal and consequential moments in people’s lives, and I am committed to ensuring everyone is treated with fairness, dignity, and respect.”

Senior partner Jake Moore Sr. praised Eckstrom’s candidacy, calling him “both a fine person and someone who will make an excellent probate judge.”

Voters in Lexington County will cast ballots in the primary election on June 9, 2026, with the general election set for November 5, 2026. The deadline to register to vote is May 10, 2026. For more information, visit scvotes.gov.
