Dutch Fork Middle School is excited to announce the appointment of Mrs. Kelly Thacker as the new Assistant Principal. Mrs. Thacker has been a dedicated educator and leader, previously teaching at Irmo Middle School, where she served as the Math Department Chair for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.
For the past six years, Mrs. Thacker has been a key part of Dutch Fork Middle as the Digital Integration Specialist, a role in which she supported faculty and staff during the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. She provided essential professional development to enhance instructional strategies and improve technology proficiency.
Her leadership extends to several important initiatives, including overseeing the implementation of SmartPass, participating in the district-wide Capturing Kids’ Hearts initiative, and supporting the school’s Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) efforts. Additionally, she served as Secretary for the School Improvement Council (SIC) during the 2023-2024 school year.
Known for her positive energy, strong management of student behavior, and ability to inspire students and teachers alike, Mrs. Thacker is a welcome addition to the leadership team at Dutch Fork Middle School. The school community looks forward to her continued contributions to student success and school improvement.
