Dutch Fork, Irmo grads sign NFL free agent contracts

By Thomas Grant Jr.

A pair of linemen who first developed their craft at high schools in Irmo have received an opportunity to compete on the pro level.

Offensive lineman Kameron Stewart of Dutch Fork and defensive end Trajan Jeffcoat of Irmo both signed undrafted free agent deals with respective NFL teams following the conclusion of the 2024 draft.

Stewart, who started his college career at Coastal Carolina before transferring to Bowling Green, was picked up by the New York Giants. As for Jeffcoat, who spent four years at Missouri before finishing last season at the University of Arkansas, he was signed by the New Orleans Saints.

Both will report to their respective Rookie Mini-Camps running May 10-12.

KAMERON STEWART

A 3-time state champion with the Silver Foxes, Stewart blocked for five (5) players with 100-yards or more rushing yards totaling 2,202 yards.

Kameren amassed 1,897 snaps on the offensive line in 64 games. His run-blocking total was 11,082 yards (120 touchdowns) and pass-blocking was14,115 yards (125 touchdowns).

He’s the first Falcon to either sign or get drafted by an NFL team since Ryan Hunter in 2019 with the Kansas City Chiefs.

“Kameren has an equal opportunity on a level playing field as much as any of the drafted players,” according to his agent, Maine Prince of Prince Management Group based in Los Angeles, Calif.

TRAJAN JEFFCOAT

A former Shrine Bowl selection, Jeffcoat started all 12 games at defensive end for the Razorbacks last season. He led the team with 29 quarterback pressures, 18 hurries, 16 tackles and four sacks.

His best game occurred against Ole Miss on Oct. 7 when he had a season-high three tackles for loss and a sack.

During his career with the Tigers, Jeffcoat was named first-team All-SEC by the Associated Press and league coaches as a redshirt sophomore. He played 47 games for Missouri over four seasons and was one of five Arkansas players to received free agent contracts.
