School District Five’s Director of Human Resources, Dr. Reggie Wicker, has been honored as the top district-level administrator in the state by the South Carolina Association of School Administrators (SCASA). The prestigious 2025 SCASA District Level Administrator of the Year award was presented to Dr. Wicker in a surprise announcement on May 2nd.
Dr. Wicker was selected from a pool of highly qualified administrator candidates by a panel of seasoned judges. His exceptional leadership, dedication, and contributions to education were recognized through this distinguished accolade.
Expressing his gratitude, Dr. Wicker stated, “Receiving the 2025 South Carolina Association of School Administrators District Level Administrator of the Year Award marks a significant milestone in my personal and professional journey. It’s not just an achievement; it’s a reflection of the core values I hold dear – the values of hard work, determination, and resilience that I strive to live by every single day.”
Dr. Wicker brings a wealth of experience to his role, having started his career as a fourth-grade teacher at Newberry Elementary after obtaining his bachelor of science degree in elementary education from Newberry College. Over the years, he has served in various capacities, including parenting coordinator, principal at Newberry County Elementary, director of elementary education in Union County, and coordinator of special projects in the human resources department at Richland School District One.
Dr. Wicker joined School District Five in January 2021, bringing with him a commitment to innovation and creative problem-solving. His leadership has been instrumental in overcoming complex challenges in education and employment within the district.
