Congressman Joe Wilson’s annual bus tour made a stop in Irmo on August 21, where he was warmly received by the Greater Irmo Chamber of Commerce. The tour takes Wilson across South Carolina’s Second Congressional District and includes visits to businesses, schools, and organizations in Aiken, Chapin, Forest Acres, and the Cayce-West Columbia areas.
During his visit, Wilson discussed current political issues in Washington, D.C., and how national policies impact his district constituents.
“We are always excited to see our Congressman each year on his bus tour,” said Greater Irmo Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Kerry Powers. “Our members show up and are always honored to see him.”
The tour sampled fare from Irmo’s latest restaurant, Whataburger, which brought plenty for the gathered crowd.
