Chapin Library Kicks Off Summer Reading with Fun for All Ages!

Get ready for an unforgettable summer of stories, creativity, and community fun! The Chapin Branch of the Lexington County Public Library is launching its Summer Reading Program: Color Our World with an exciting Kick-Off Party on Monday, June 2, from 4–6 PM, in partnership with Chapin Town Hall.

This free event is packed with fun for all ages, featuring:

  • A foam party
  • Face painting
  • Balloon animals
  • The Mobile Library
  • A bounce house
  • And the unveiling of Chapin Town Hall’s new and improved Nature Trail!

The Summer Reading Challenge invites everyone—from toddlers to adults—to dive into a world of books and activities. Complete the program to earn prizes and be entered to win a grand prize!

Weekly Tuesday programs for grades K–5 begin June 10 at 2 PM with Color Our World Tie-Dye. Just bring an item to dye and let your creativity shine. Be sure to pick up a Lexington County Public Library Program Booklet for a full schedule of summer events.

Summer reading helps prevent the “summer slide” and inspires a lifelong love of learning. With scavenger hunts, reading recommendations, and programs for all ages, the Chapin Library has something for everyone.

Overflow parking is available at Town Hall and at the old school just before the library (129 NW Columbia Ave). For more info, visit lexcolibrary.com or call 803-345-5479.

Join the fun, spark your imagination, and let the library Color Your World this summer!
