Chapin Gears Up for a Festive Labor Day Celebration

Get ready to celebrate Labor Day in style as Chapin gears up for its annual festival, this year themed “Chapin – New Frontiers.” Embrace your inner cowboy or cowgirl and join in the fun with a series of exciting events leading up to the big day.

Pre-Labor Day Events:

  • Restaurant Week (August 24 – 30): Sponsored by Boland’s Ace, Restaurant Week kicks off the festivities. New this year is a Restaurant Week raffle. To enter, simply bring a receipt of $5 or more from any participating Chapin restaurant to Chapin Town Hall. Each receipt counts as an entry, and on August 30 at 4 pm, a lucky winner will be drawn to receive a special prize, courtesy of Boland’s Ace.
  • Labor Day 5K (August 31): This year’s race is organized by Fidelis Family Retreat, with all proceeds benefiting veteran families. Registration is open now through Strictly Running. Sign up at this link to participate in this charitable event.
  • Latin Night on Beaufort Street (August 31, 6 pm): Enjoy an evening of authentic Venezuelan cuisine from the Arepa Chef food truck, Latin music by David Rodriguez and the Latin Hustle, and plenty of dancing under the stars.
  • Boots on Beaufort Country Concert (September 1, 6 – 11 pm): The weekend continues with a country concert featuring local artists Johnny Meetze and Griffin Schelbe, followed by headliners Noel Lindler and the Bank Walkers. Sponsored by Mid Carolina Electric Co-op and Lowery Consulting, the event also features select vendors and food trucks.

Labor Day (September 2):

  • Chapin Labor Day Classic Car Show (9 am): Held at the Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church parking lot, this event is sponsored by The Auto Shop of Chapin and promises a stunning display of classic cars.
  • Labor Day Parade (10 am): Watch the parade make its way down Chapin Road, from the United Homes building to the Lowes Foods parking lot. A highlight of the day, the parade is a must-see for all ages.
  • Labor Day Festival (All Day): The festival takes over downtown Chapin, sponsored by Lexington Medical Center. Enjoy the Children’s Carnival, sponsored by Crossroads Church, cool down in the tents sponsored by Reliable Plumbing and Sweet Izzy’s, and explore a variety of food trucks and artisan vendors. Town Hall will also host the annual book sale, perfect for finding your next great read.
