Auditions, July 20th for 6 main characters for paid performances in a new series of 3 productions. Kate Brighton; Artistic Director of Absolute Theatre Company has partnered with “Bill’s Pickin Parlor & Event Center” to create three dinner theater experiences. Each production is based on the theme of an “Ol’ Timey Radio Show” but will become much more in storyline, comedy and musical artist; on stage in the radio studio and into the audience.
Auditioning for a mixture of 5 males and females; 18 years old and above, with versatile skills in multiple ascents, characters, improv, some singing and movement. Seeking also an actor who can produce mouth/body sound effects. The permanent cast will include a young girl, 8-12 years old, who is confident and has the same adult skill set. If she can tap, step or clog dance that is a plus. Actors will have some creative input in creating the productions.
Production dates are October 26-27. December 14-15. March 15-16. A Halloween show, A Christmas show including Dickens “A Christmas Carol “and closing the season out with “The Betty & Beau Wedding Show” Rehearsal days are Tuesday nights and Saturday mornings starting at 9 AM. Please do not audition if you cannot make these rehearsal days.
Kate Brighton, a professional Director has headed up the Absolute Theatre since 1992. She has written and produced shows from coast to coast since the 1980s. This new venture will be under the banner of “Stage Brighton”. This high-quality production will include staged radio script reading as well as memorized lines, improvisation and movement. Perhaps best described as somewhat like “Prairie Home Companion”; a wholesome yet not muzzled production open to creative types who can still follow direction!
