Previously Unclaimed Veterans to Receive Military Honors at Fort Jackson National Cemetery

Previously unclaimed veterans will be laid to rest with military honors during an interment ceremony at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 12, at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.

Legionnaires from American Legion Post 193 of Chapin will conduct the ceremony to ensure the veterans receive the recognition and dignity earned through their service to the nation.

Those being interred include:

PFC Herbert C. Dandelski, U.S. Army – Veteran Dandelski served from March 5, 1969, to February 4, 1972, during the Vietnam Era. He was born Nov. 15, 1951, and passed away Aug. 12, 2025.

SFC Robert Parker, U.S. Army – Veteran Parker served from March 27, 1975, to Aug. 31, 1988. During his military career, he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal and Army Achievement Medal. He was born June 5, 1945, and passed away Jan. 19, 2026. Interred alongside him will be his spouse, Gracie Ann Parker, who was born July 24, 1955, and passed away Aug. 2, 2015.

PV2 Richard Parker, U.S. Army – Veteran Parker served from June 25, 1980, to Nov. 13, 1981. He was born Feb. 16, 1962, and passed away Sept. 28, 2025.

PV2 Billy Page, U.S. Army – Veteran Page served from Jan. 9, 1968, to Sept. 21, 1971, during the Vietnam Era. He was born Sept. 4, 1949, and passed away Aug. 22, 2025.

PVT John Robert Griffin, U.S. Marine Corps – Veteran Griffin served from Dec. 3, 1953, to Dec. 2, 1956, during the Korean War Era. He was born June 26, 1935, and passed away Jan. 24, 2026.

MA3 Louise Stalnaker, U.S. Navy – Veteran Stalnaker served from Sept. 12, 1963, to Sept. 9, 1966, during the Vietnam Era. She was born Aug. 19, 1942, and passed away Feb. 17, 2026.

The ceremony reflects the continuing commitment of veterans organizations and community volunteers to ensure that no veteran is forgotten and that all who served receive a respectful final resting place with the honors they earned through military service.
