The Our Lady of the Lake Women’s Club in Chapin is now making its proprietary cookbook, Feeding the Flock, available to the public for the first time. “The response from parishioners has been so great since we introduced our cookbook, we decided to offer it to the community as well,” says Kathy Gilbert, Women’s Club president.
The time is right for the cookbook’s public introduction, Mrs. Gilbert adds. “It would make a fabulous Mother’s Day gift for moms, wives, daughters, grandmas – anyone who enjoys cooking and likes to try new recipes.”
Professionally designed and printed, the cookbook includes more than 150 recipes submitted by Our Lady of the Lake parishioners and their families. Feeding the Flock is in a three-ring format so it lays flat when open and also makes it easy to expand the book with new sections, such as ethnic favorites or holiday dishes, the club plans to release periodically.
Feeding the Flock is the first cookbook the Women’s Club has produced in the club’s long history. “We’re proud of it not only because it is visually attractive but also because it includes such a diverse range of recipes, many that have been handed down in families for generations,” Mrs. Gilbert says.
The cookbook is available for $25 directly from the club. Proceeds support the Women’s Club and its service to the parish and community. To purchase Feeding the Flock, call or text Kathy Gilbert at 206-963-5387.
